O BEIJO NO ASFALTO | MUSICAL
Theatre Branding • Editorial & Key Art Design
Year :
2015
Industry :
Play / Culture
Client :
Correios, Sesc
Project Duration :
2 Weeks

THE CHALLENGE
To capture the raw, tragic essence of Nelson Rodrigues’ classic Brazilian play adapted into a major musical production. The main challenge was to design a comprehensive campaign that felt authentically vintage, weathered, and deeply rooted in the sensationalist atmosphere of 1960s Rio de Janeiro.

THE STRATEGY & VISUAL SOLUTION
The creative direction relied on multi-layered analog textures and distressing techniques to evoke a bygone era. A stark, dramatic palette dominated by deep asphalt tones and visceral blood-red accents was paired with bold, classic typography.
Authentic newspaper clippings were used as a core graphic element, serving a dual purpose: they represent the plot’s media frenzy while providing a rich, tactile background across all promotional assets. The immersive experience was completed with the design of a custom scenographic newspaper used live by the actors on stage. The production toured nationwide to critical and public acclaim.
The Deliverables
Key Art & Official Posters
Outdoor Billboards & Busdoors
Scenographic Newspaper Design
Promotional Pamphlets & Flyers
Theatre Venue Signage
